The impact of the fourth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic predicted to hit the country in November or December this year on the people of this country and healthcare professionals will largely be determined by the level of vaccinations in the population. Some estimates have predicted that as many as 30 000 lives can be saved if South Africa achieves a 60% vaccination rate before the fourth wave.
The voice of the profession will have a major impact on our country’s ability to achieve this goal. On Thursday 7 October SAMA will state its position on vaccination mandates and vaccination certificates at a CPD accredited webinar.
