Topical concerns for medical schemes and practitioners, namely budgeting for COVID, the pandemic progression and the Certificate of Need respectively, will be addressed in an IHRM-hosted webinar by Prof Roseanne Harris (pictured), Adjunct Professor in the School of Statistics and Actuarial Science at Wits University, and well-known health sector lawyer, Elsabe Klinck, this Thursday, 26 August, from 09h00 to 12h00.*
Aspects to be covered by Prof Harris, who is president-elect of the International Actuarial Society and Health Policy Actuary at Discovery Health, will also include benefit design for 2022 and beyond, the vaccine programme and vaccine efficacy.
Elsabe Klinck, CEO of EKA, is expected to delve into aspects of the National Health Act’s controversial Certificate of Need of particular concern to medical practitioners.
Published in the Government Gazette for comment in June 2021, the proposed legislation is expected to have a significant impact on doctor practices. Klinck will share her insights on this prospect and the far-reaching implications it could have for the health sector at large.
